ME

Hi! I’m Ann and I am a maker. My Mum and Gran instilled in me a deep love of all things handmade. From sewing, knitting and embroidery to macrame and painting, my childhood was full of craft and creation. I find joy in almost any form of making and it is wonderful be able to create for my family, home and friends.

When I was 15 I went on a family holiday to America and bought a handmade silver and turquoise Navajo necklace with my hard-saved pocket money. And so began my relationship with jewellery. I would save then savour the search for special pieces to mark great holidays or important milestones.

Twenty years after I bought that necklace, in the midst of developing my career, I desperately needed to reawaken my creative soul. I dug out my knitting needles, my sewing machine, my crochet hooks. But I needed a new outlet. So, spur of the moment, I signed up for a silversmithing class and was instantly inspired. Other wonderful things (promotion, marriage, children!) took over so it was only in 2019 that I really picked up my tools, found myself a space in the shed and began to make!

My Work

For me, jewellery is a worn story. Pieces almost always have tales to tell, memories to hold or meanings to carry. Sometimes the story is there for all to see, but often it is a private whisper to the wearer. I love learning new processes and I find inspiration all around, from fabric and colour, to shape and structure.

Today, I feel lucky to fit my passion for making around work and family life. There’s nothing I love more than finding the time to settle down at the bench to develop small studio collections.
